A Food Fair is a San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) program that provides large quantities of perishable and non-perishable food items (and more) to qualified individuals and families. Food Fairs are held with the support of our partner agencies throughout 16 counties in Southwest Texas.
The San Antonio Food Bank is proud to offer this opportunity for agency partners to assist in providing nutritional product and education to families and individuals in need.
Agency staff qualifies individuals based on their income (verbal declaration) by using a voucher provided by the SAFB and Federal Income Guidelines. The agencies facilitate the distribution of the products to the individuals and families.
A Food Fair typically last three hours, and can be run with as little as 15-20 volunteers, and provides food assistance to a great number of families. Food Fairs also connects individuals to other SAFB programs including Client Services (Federal Benefit Assistance) and Nutrition, Health and Wellness Education.
