What is a Food and Fund Drive?

A great way to partner with the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) in our fight to end hunger by increasing the supply of food resources for those in need.

Coordinating a Food and Fund Drive is easy. We provide you with the tools you need to make it successful. Our Coordinator's Manual assists you with running your food drive, provides creative event ideas and has all the materials and forms you’ll need. Our Food and Fund Drive Themes packet provides additional fun ideas on how to have a successful event. And if you are a school, please read our Guide for Schools manual for helpful hints.

We encourage you to seek donations of healthy, non-perishable food items. Use our Twelve Most Wanted Items list as a guide.

What is a Virtual Food Drive?

A convenient, hassle-free way to help with a click of a mouse. Food drives are a wonderful way to get needed food to the hungry men, women and children of Southwest Texas. But not every workplace has the necessary storage, equipment or on-site employees to make it work.

With easy-to-use technology, the SAFB can help your workplace organize a Virtual Food Drive with fun, point-and-click simplicity similar to online shopping. Transactions can be completed within minutes. Donors may use any major credit card for payment on a secure site and receive an e-receipt immediately. To encourage participation, you can even arrange a friendly Virtual Food Drive competition with another department, office location or rival company.

SAFB staff can help you set-up your Virtual Food Drive, which employees access by clicking on a link in a company distributed e-mail. Each Virtual Food Drive can be customized with your company's logo. The program administrator can track the progress of the Virtual Food Drive in real-time and send out updates.

Through a Virtual Food Drive you will be able to make monetary donations to the SAFB. This gets more meals to the hungry faster and with less expense.
