This partnership builds on Panera Bread’s long history of donating its day-end bread and baked goods as well as proceeds from its Panera Cares Community Bread Box program (donation canisters at registers) to non-profits across the country, and has been forged so that Panera can better use its resources, scale and expertise to provide not only funds but also quality, nutritious food to Feeding America and its network of local food banks.

Charity Miles

Feeding America is one of 10 charities chosen to pilot Charity Miles, a free iPhone/Android app that empowers people to earn money for charity while walking, running or biking. Participants choose one of the app’s featured charities and hit the streets. The app will track the participant’s distance and they’ll earn money for their charity. Bikers earn 10¢ per mile; walkers and runners earn 25¢ per mile. Get more information here.
Gardening 101

Join us in the Spurs Community Garden for a free class on the practice of planning small but intensively planted gardens. Gardening 101 is great for beginner gardeners. Interested participants should register one week prior to the class by calling 210-431-8347.
